The people’s liberation army of China (PLA) bypassed the US Armed forces in three areas. This is stated in the annual report of the Pentagon, published on the first of September, prepared for Congress, on the state of the armed forces of China.

It is noted that China has managed to bypass the United States in terms of the pace of shipbuilding and the number of the fleet, writes TASS. The Chinese Navy, according to the Pentagon, has 350 ships and submarines (including 130 large surface ships). The us Navy includes 293 combat units.

The Pentagon also recognized the PLA’s superiority in land-based cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as in the field of integrated air defense systems. At the same time, the report says that China has one of the largest forces in the world, consisting of modern long – range surface-to-air systems, including the S-300 and S-400 produced in Russia.

As the report shows, the PRC over the past two decades “has mobilized resources, technology, and political will to strengthen and modernize the PLA in almost all aspects.” The US military suggests that Beijing will seek to create a military force equal to or in some cases superior to the us by the middle of the century.
